IKM Incorporated was commissioned to design Founders Hall of Lock Haven University, Clearfield Campus, the first of several structures planned for the new campus site.  This new building was intended to fill the role of the “Old Main” for the campus and was designed to provide a rich environment for the growth of history and tradition for the students of this campus.

Founders Hall serves primarily the nursing and chemistry programs. The building program includes general classrooms, various laboratories, faculty offices, a lecture hall/auditorium, library/resource center, computer labs, and a student lounge with vending area.

The lecture hall/auditorium allows an entire class to observe the hands-on instruction, both directly and by closed circuit television. The new facility provides concurrent use of teaching and hands-on nursing and patient-care simulation areas.

The building contains two large “lounge” areas. These well-appointed large gathering spaces can be configured for a multitude of uses from general student study space to large formal party areas complete with fireplace ambience.

The facility also offers complete support spaces as well such as, vending, mail and bookstore facilities, general-purpose classrooms, a computer service classroom and faculty and administrative offices.
