Biography

Mr. Schrott currently serves as the Managing Partner and President IKM Incorporated. As Managing Partner, Mr. Schrott is responsible with his partners for defining the firm’s mission and vision, providing strategic leadership and setting the direction of the 100 year old firm.

Mr. Schrott has focused his 30-year career on institutional architecture, planning and design and directs projects in the healthcare and higher education markets at IKM. In addition to his management duties, Mr. Schrott had been published in numerous trade publications and has spoken at conferences and seminars regarding the current state of design.

Mr. Schrott received his Bachelor of Architecture with honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 1982 and is a registered Architect in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Pittsburgh Chapter, as well as the Pennsylvania Society of Architects. He was also a member of the 27th class for Leadership Pittsburgh (LP-XXVII).

Mr. Schrott has been an active member of the township of Mt. Lebanon, volunteering his time and expertise to the of Board of Directors for the Environmental Charter School, the Board of Directors Member South Hills Interfaith Ministries (SHIM), as a member of the Key Communicators Committee for Mt. Lebanon School District, a member of the Citizen Advisory Committee for Mt. Lebanon School District, Treasurer for Mt. Lebanon Field Hockey Association and Teaching Director for Community Bible Study Pittsburgh South Evening.

Biography

Mr. Bernard began his professional career in 1984. He completed his Bachelor of Architecture in 1989 from Boston Architectural Center School of Architecture. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. During his academic career, Mr. Bernard was the recipient of a design award from the Boston Society of Architects.

He is currently a principal architect in the firm and serves as the firm’s CFO and is responsible for financial planning and reporting.

Throughout Mr. Bernard’s career he has worked on a broad range of project types, including corporate, banking, commercial, education, healthcare and housing. He became a registered architect in Pennsylvania in 1993 and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh Chapters. Mr. Bernard holds National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certification. He is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Mr. Bernard serves on the MBA-AIA Joint Committee with the Master Builders Association of Western PA. He is an appointed member of the City of Pittsburgh PLI Board of Appeals. Mr. Bernard also volunteers his time on non-profit boards including serving as a trustee for The Frick Art and Historical Center. He was also a member of the 27th class of Leadership Pittsburgh (LP-XXVII).

Biography

Mr. Brown joined the firm in 1983 and is a Principal of IKM Incorporated. He has over thirty-four years of architecture experience. During his tenure, he has served as project manager and principal for many of IKM’s healthcare and education clients.

Mr. Brown serves as the firm’s Quality Assurance and Control Officer and is responsible for overall quality assurance and control of all drawings and documents for projects to help produce quality documents, on schedule resulting in minimum change orders.

Mr. Brown graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1980, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), a member of Society for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments (SAGE) and is a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as Ohio and West Virginia.

Mr. Brown has lectured on the issue of AIA Guidelines and has been and invited speaker to various professional organizations.

Mr. Brown volunteers his time as a member of the Adams Township Zoning Hearing Board, the St. Kilian Parish Building Committee, Mars Troop #400 Assistant Scout Master, and Board Member of the Saint Anthony School Programs.

Biography

Mr. McDonnell is the design principal for IKM and has responsibility for carrying out the firm’s mission to promote innovative and informed architecture that positively impacts the world through design leadership in understanding, exploration, and decision making. In addition to design oversight, Mr. McDonnell serves as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and is charged with executing the firm’s vision to be recognized for excellence in institutional and corporate architecture and design.

Mike’s career has centered on technically complex projects where the convergence of organizational vision and individual creativity yield buildings of extraordinary value. In 2006, Mike was the youngest of 5 partners to accept an ownership role in the firm and has since focused his energies on staff development and leadership growth.

He is an Honors Graduate of Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture and was the first in the firm to complete a year-long community leadership program organized by Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc., (LP-XXVI).

Mr. McDonnell has been an active member of the township of Upper St. Clair, volunteering his time and expertise to the USC Planning Commission, Development Committee for the Township's Environmental Education Center, and currently serves as Chairman for the USC Building and Fire Codes Appeals and Advisory Board. Mike is also currently serving as 2nd Vice President of AIA Pittsburgh.

Biography

Mr. Hartung has over 25 years of architectural experience encompassing all areas of design, management, administration and production. He has significant experience with large capital projects which often involve complex environments and phased construction schedules. In addition, he has a variety of projects for corporate, private and public institutions.

Mr. Hartung serves as the firm’s Chief Information Officer and is responsible for solving organizational problems through acquiring and adapting existing technologies, including heading the firm’s efforts to advance the use of Revit/BIM Software in project production.

Mr. Hartung obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 1986. He holds certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a registered architect in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia, West Virginia and New York. Mr. Hartung is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Pittsburgh and West Virginia Chapters. He was also a member of the 29th class of Leadership Pittsburgh (LP-XXIX). He volunteers his time as a member of the Upper St. Clair Parks and Recreation Board.
