Manager of Business Development – Cleveland

IKM is looking for a purposeful Business Development Manager to join our Cleveland office. The primary focus for the person in this position is to develop new business opportunities in IKM’s defined markets throughout Ohio. Market sectors include; healthcare, higher education, science and technology, workplace, K-12, and civic and cultural. This is to be accomplished by growing the firm’s new client base through a combination of market research and analysis, personal networking, cold calling, trade show participation, participation in industry organizations and events, and other activities as deemed necessary for success.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Operational Responsibilities

  • Position reports to the Director of Business Development/Marketing/Communication.
  • Position contributes to and helps to maintain the enterprise-wide CRM database.
  • Maintains existing and new opportunities in our CRM database.
  • Responsible for proper attendance by IKM staff at networking events (as necessary), trade shows, golf outings, client events, etc.
  • Works with the Marketing & Communication Coordinator(s) to have effective engagement tools and messaging for initial contact meetings and follow-up meetings, trade show participation and follow-up, and meetings to introduce IKM thought leaders to new potential clients.
  • Organizes and delivers annual business development training for enterprise-wide staff.

Outreach Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes initiative-taking tradeshow planning and follow-up plans for each trade show attended.
  • Develops target list of trade shows to attend each year.
  • Makes initial contact with potential clients and builds relationship to a point where it can be handed off to an IKM Principal or Associate as the content expert and relationship manager.
  • Assisting in developing business development goals for Associates with the Director of BD/M/C
  • Coaching and mentoring staff to further the development of BD skills.
  • Participation in a board position/committee position in at least one industry/market sector organization
  • Work with principals and associates to establish follow-up planning activities for business development contacts.

Research & Communication Responsibilities

  • Develops and updates strategic plans for the IKM market sectors for the Cleveland Office.  Does this in conjunction with the Ohio Principal, Market Sector Leaders, and the Director of Business Development/Marketing/Communication.
  • Research and identify institutional master plans and potential capital projects, through market analysis and information gathering.
  • Research and identify emerging trends in current market sectors.
  • Participation in IKMs Strategic Initiatives Group(s)

  • Utilized Deltek as CRM platform
  • Fluent communicator with face-to-face interactions as well as phone and email interactions.

Project Manager – Columbus

IKM Architecture is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager with 8+ years of experience, including 4+ years as a PM, in the healthcare sector to help support and be a catalyst for IKM’s growth in Columbus, Ohio. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading projects through all phases while maintaining relationships with current healthcare clients, subconsultants, and stakeholders. This is a corporate leadership track position with metrics for advancement to Office Director.

The Project Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead projects through all phases of development
  • Drive overall client satisfaction through the effective use of pull planning and other lean process tools
  • Analyze and design architecture to support program vision
  • Work with the project team to prepare and present design solutions to design leadership and clients
  • Coordinate with the marketing and business development team in the pursuit of new opportunities
  • Participate in staff recruitment efforts to build the Columbus office
  • Represent the firm at industry events in Columbus
  • Knowledge of local and regional jurisdictional authority and code requirements (including NFPA, IBC, FGI, and other codes or standards of care)

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager
  • Current Architecture registration required
  • Experience with healthcare design
  • At least 2 years of experience as a PM in the Columbus area
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture is required. Degree must be from an accredited school of architecture
  • Software Familiarity with Bluebeam, REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office 365

Project Architect – Columbus & Pittsburgh

IKM is seeking an enthusiastic Project Architect with 5+ years in the healthcare and science and technology sector to help support our growth in Columbus, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. The Project Architect will be responsible for leading projects from schematic design through construction administration. The person in this role should be collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Project Architect will have the following responsibilities:

  • Solid technical foundation in the building sciences that leads to an understanding of how buildings go together and how to effectively document that process
  • Ability to lead projects from schematic design through construction administration
  • Ability to coordinate staff to achieve outstanding results
  • Responsible for design and technical underpinning of assigned projects, including investigate, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet our design aspirations and the client’s goals
  • Commitment to deliver outstanding results at every step of the delivery process
  • Responsible for project specifications including data gathering and analysis
  • Knowledge of local and regional jurisdictional authority and code requirements (including NFPA, IBC, FGI, and other codes or standards of care)
  • Reviews and coordinates submittals and shop drawings
  • Coordinates QA activities and incorporate review comments
  • Ensures that all design deliverables meet project requirements including schedule, budget, and scope as outlined in the contract
