We are excited to announce the achievement of NCIDQ Certification by two of our very own Interior Designers. Whitney Livsey and Sydney McDonough are the first to complete this certification process while employed with IKM. This process includes three exams that test the knowledge of building systems, codes, construction standards, contract administration, design application, professional practice, and project coordination. These testing subjects reinforce the understanding and application of codes within a built environment to protect the health, safety, and welfare of occupants.
This certificate is the only of it’s kind to be recognized by both state and provincial regulators internationally. Certified designers are qualified and capable of independently designing non-loadbearing, non-seismic, and non-structural elements within code-regulated buildings. Comparison reports have shown that over 80% of exam content areas as well as skills required at the time of examination crossover between the NCARB/ARE process and the CIDQ/NCIDQ process.
We look forward to the caliber of work produced by our NCIDQ Certified Interior Designers and the acquired skillsets they will bring to their project teams!
