Oxford Drive Breast Center
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

- $1.3M Project Value
The St. Clair Hospital’s Oxford Drive Outpatient Center first floor is made up of three specialty suites including a Diagnostic Imaging Center, Physical and Occupational Therapy Center, and a Breast Center. The existing Breast Center was embedded in the main hospital, with little identity of its own. IKM was retained by the Hospital to provide an independent Breast Center dedicated to the diagnostic, treatment, and recovery of women with breast disease in an environment that focuses on the female patient experience within the Center.
The Breast Center was designed with the comfort of women in mind. The interior details, like crystal wall sconces, iridescent tile mosaics, and a water feature contribute to a spa-like environment for a more relaxed experience. The floor layout and room adjacencies consider ease of circulation for staff while catering to privacy of the patient as they travel from dressing rooms to diagnostic and exam areas.
IKM was retained by St. Clair Hospital to execute this multiphase renovation during which service was never interrupted throughout design and construction. Common design threads tie the center together while creating separate branding identities for each practice suite. The goal achieved was to create a superior patient experience to support the growing healthcare needs of Pittsburgh’s South Hills residents.
