Following his recent experience with the Environmental Charter School (ECS) through the Leadership Pittsburgh program, John Schrott, AIA, ACHA, managing principal architect of IKM Incorporated has been elected to the Board of Trustees.
The mission of the Environmental Charter School is to educate each student to high academic learning standards using a themed curriculum that will foster knowledge, love of and respect for the environment and the will to preserve it for future generations. The school fills a gap in local education programs as the first environmentally-themed public school in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
“The School’s mission is consistent with IKM’s mission of positively impacting our world through exploration, understanding, and decision making,” said Schrott.
Schrott is an experienced architect with 30 years of professional practice managing design projects for healthcare and education institutions that involve new construction and complex renovation of existing facilities. In addition to his project and firm management duties, he has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars regarding the current state of design.
