IKM Architecture is proud to announce our partnership with Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture’s UDream Program for the second year in a row. As part of our commitment to fostering diversity within the architecture, construction, and engineering fields, we are excited to welcome Oumar Korehala to our Pittsburgh team as an architectural intern.
Oumar graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Shortly after, he became involved in the UDream program, a prestigious initiative designed to provide students with opportunities to gain industry experience and professional development.
During his fall internship at IKM, Oumar will be working alongside our seasoned architects and project managers, gaining valuable hands-on experience. His role at IKM will allow him to contribute to real-world projects, further develop his skills, and gain insights into the daily of an architectural firm. We are excited to support Oumar as he embarks on this important step in his career.
The UDream program aligns with IKM Architecture’s vision of creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce in the design and construction industries. By offering paid internships to program participants, we hope to play a role in developing the next generation of architects who can bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the field. As advocates for diversity, we believe in creating opportunities in architecture that are accessible to talented individuals from all backgrounds.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with CMU and witnessing Oumar’s growth as part of our team and beyond. By supporting programs like UDream, IKM Architecture is committed to shaping a more inclusive and dynamic future for our profession.
