WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital Wins People’s Choice Award at 2023 AIA Pittsburgh Design Awards

We are thrilled to share that our WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital project won the People’s Choice Award at the 2023 AIA Pittsburgh Design Awards! This was such a rewarding project for our team to work on, and we are honored to be recognized by the Pittsburgh Architecture and Design community for it. The WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, located in Morgantown, West Virginia is a 330,000 SF state-of-the-art facility ensuring that every child in West Virginia and beyond receives the highest quality care.

Here are just a few of the many wonderful comments submitted by the public during the People’s Choice Voting period:

“I believe the new children’s hospital is a beacon of hope for the state of West Virginia. The meticulous design creates a space for healing for the littlest members of the community.”

“I love the design of the WVU Children l’s Hospital. It is colorful bright and feels good. I had two children born prematurely and I would have so loved to spend my time in this beautiful space! “

“This Children’s Hospital is full of vibrant, happy colors both inside and out.. It is beautifully designed  with such detail and has so much potential. This hospital has been much needed for years . I’m so glad we finally have one in Morgantown WV.”

“It’s been amazing to watch the progress of this structure during my time at WVU. From fundraising with fellow students as a freshman to seeing it in operational as a first year medical student, the impact of this structure is palpable. WVU Medicine Children’s is a prime example of intentional design while also serving a unique purpose.”

“The hospital was really built with the children in mind! Each room has color changing lights that can be chosen from. Each floor has a mascot and coordinated theme throughout!”

“I was so impressed with the top floor. It’s so family friendly and a way to help not only parents, but patients and their siblings.”
